Joseph Clay Graves

BOWLING GREEN – Joseph Clay Graves, 61, of Bowling Green passed away February 14, 2024 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky. The Allen County, Ky. native was born March 25, 1962 to the late Larry Rural and Diana Lucille Phillips Graves.

Clay was above all a family man and a loving husband, father, and very active grandfather who was present for every available activity of his two grandchildren. He especially loved his furry friend, Ozzy. Clay was a fun-loving individual who loved to laugh and thrived on other people’s laughter. He was known for letting his love of others be known.

Survivors include his wife, Shelia Gail Thornton Graves; children, Daughtry Whitehurst (Chris) and Dustin Graves; grandchildren, Kash and Ella Whitehurst; brother, Jeffrey Graves, M.D. (Andrea); nephew, Ted Graves; and niece, Katherine Graves.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 6:35 p.m. at the Hot Rods game in the Field Level Suite. Per Clay’s wishes, cremation was chosen. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapels.
