James Robert ‘Bob’ Maxfield

James Robert “Bob” Maxfield, 78, of Bowling Green, formerly of Rochester, passed away May 30, 2015, at Morgantown Care and Rehab. 

Bob was born Nov. 7, 1936, in Muhlenberg County to the late James Riley and Etta Estheline Cottrell Maxfield. He was a member of Rochester Missionary Baptist Church and was a former truck driver and coal miner. He was a simple man who worked hard and loved his family. Other than his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two daughters, Dottie and Janice Lynn Maxfield, and three brothers, Randall H. Maxfield, Don Maxfield and Roger Maxfield.

Bob Maxfield is survived by his wife of 45 years, Imogene Ferguson Maxfield of Bowling Green; a son, Dave Maxfield, wife Courtney, of Rochester; two daughters, Sheila Stephens, husband Jeramy, and Kimberly Maxfield, all of Bowling Green; a brother, Richard Maxfield of Morgantown; two granddaughters, five grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Roger Heltsley officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
