James E. ‘Jim’ Kirkwood

Bowling Green, KY – James (Jim) Kirkwood entered into peaceful rest September 30th, 2018. Jim was born in Jasonville, In. on February 6th, 1940 to Mary and James Kirkwood, who preceded him in death. Jim had one son, Eddie Kirkwood (Cammie), who also preceded him in death. Additionally, his loving Mother and Father in Law, James Cook and Pauline Parrigin preceded him in death. Jim has one sister, Becky Sharp (Steve). Jim was the loving husband to Paula Parrigin Kirkwood for almost 38 years. Jim and Paula have three children in addition to Eddie. The children are Jeff Allen, Tiffany Saylor (Brian), Jeremy Allen (Mandy). Jim has nine grandchildren, Mary Catherine Kirkwood, Kayla White, Payton Allen, Audrey Allen, Cameron Saylor, Tanner Burckhard, Paige Burckhard, Becca Allen, and Aniston Fenlon. Other survivors include his Sister in Law, Judy Calvanelli (Randy) and Brother in Law, Lyle Parrigin (Sue). Jim also had 6 nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends. Jim was an avid fan of his beloved Hilltoppers and a member of the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation for many years. He followed the Lady Toppers and Men’s Basketball as well as Hilltopper Football. Jim was the Owner and Barber at the Hair Den in Bowling Green and served as a barber for more than 50 years. Jim loved his family, friends, customers, community, and his God. Jim was known to many as a kind, caring, patient, and faithful servant. Services will be held Wednesday October 3rd, 2018 at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with visitation from 12 pm-4 pm and services of celebration and remembrance at 4 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers can be made through a donation to The American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society.
