Garlene Wimpee Weaver

Bowling Green – Garlene Wimpee Weaver, 80, of Bowling Green, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Hospice House. The Warren County native was the daughter of the late Garland and Etta Lee Wimpee. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Lee Weaver; a son, Dennis Joe Weaver; and two brothers, Joe Wimpee and Steve Wimpee. Mrs. Weaver was a member of Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her family – her greatest joy was being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed being outside with her flowers and gardening. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 16 at 11:00 am at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Old Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 14 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm; on Wednesday, May 15 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm; and again on Thursday, May 16 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Mrs. Weaver is survived by two sons, Roger Weaver (Suzie) and Randall Weaver (Connie); two sisters, Wendy Miles (Mogie) and Wanda Hesson (Kenneth); five grandchildren, Meredith Blankenship (Seth), Amber Smith (Scott), Ryan Weaver (Kirby), Colter Weaver (Kayla), and Eli Weaver (Catie); and four great-grandchildren, Conner Lee Blankenship, Rylan Samuel Weaver, Brooklyn Murphy, and Chloe Biggs; five sisters-in-law, Brenda Wimpee, Thelmalene Wimpee, Virginia Oliver (Dean), Joyce Weaver, and Martha Miller; a special niece, Trina Whittle; and special friends, Sheila Jones, Martha Hunt, and Linda Motley. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
