Dorothy Louise Dye, 82, of Smiths Grove. Dorothy retired from Turner Industries after 23 years of service. She was a member of Mount Olla Missionary Baptist Church, president of Motherboard and a member of the Missionary.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late John Boyd and Sarah Burford. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “L.C.” Dye; sons, Tony Dye, Michael Dye and Gary Dye; and sisters, Sarah Stovall, Irene Hines and Kate Belle McKinney.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Frank (Kathy) Bibb of Cleveland, Larry Dye of Johnson City, Tenn., Howard Dye of Nashville, Robert (Wanda) Dye and David (Carol) Lightfoot, both of Bowling Green, Steven (Marcia) Dye Sr. of Smiths Grove, Stewart (Stephanie) Dye of Oakand, Patricia Green of Bowling Green, Barbara (Ervin) Sorrell of Oakland, Sherrill (the Rev. Bennie) Shobe of Indianapolis, Connie Dye and Toynnia Dye, both of Bowling Green, Vonita (the Rev. Damon) Byrd of Smiths Grove and Sandra (Ronald) Bunton of Woodburn; sisters, June Ray Lewis of Russellville and Mary Forte of Indianapolis; brother, Charles Boyd of Russellville; 39 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.
Arrangements are by Burnam & Son Mortuary Inc., 201 Center St., Bowling Green, where the family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services are Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Mount Olla Missionary Baptist Church, with interment at No. 8 Cemetery, Oakland.
