David Hazelip

David Edwin Hazelip, 57, of Morgantown, passed away Nov. 14, 2014, at Morgantown Care & Rehab.
David was born Oct. 28, 1957, in Warren County to the late Harold and Jean Hazelip, who survives. He was a member of Fountain Baptist Church in Fountain, Fla., and attended Belmont General Baptist Church. He was a member of Cassia Lodge No. 272 and the Scottish Rite. David loved sports. As a young man, he played baseball and football for his high school team. David took pride in completing tasks to the best of his ability, no matter how big or small. He showed how much he loved Jesus and his church by his actions. He worked behind the scenes and on the stage in the church programs. Most of all, he loved to sing in the choir. He will be greatly missed by his church family.
David Hazelip is survived by his mother, Jean Hazelip of Morgantown; a brother, Donald Hazelip of Panama City, Fla.; two uncles, Shirley Flener and wife Angie of Morgantown and Jimmy Flener and wife Christine of Morgantown; an aunt, Joyce Flener of Morgantown; three cousins, Barbara Riddle of Morgantown, Beth White and husband Lewis of Morgantown and Leigh Jolley and husband David of Louisville; extended family, Terry, Mary, John and Brandon Hightower of Sneads, Fla.; and several other cousins and extended family.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Chapel, with Bro. T.J. Howard officiating, with burial at 10 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
