Dana Edward Newsome, 56, of Bowling Green, passed away on March 10, 2012, in Bowling Green. He was born on Dec. 2, 1955, in Ashland to the late Tivis “Ted” Newsome and Betty Newsome Maxwell. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed serving the Lord, hunting, fishing and vacationing in the mountains. He was the co-owner of Superior Packaging, and an active member of Living Hope Baptist Church who loved worshipping in the choir. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Joy Marie Panchyshyn Newsome of Bowling Green; daughter, Leshan Newsome Morehead of Bowling Green and her husband, Jeff; son, Shaun Newsome of Bowling Green and his wife, Leslie; three sisters: Patti Hanes and her husband, Doug, of Tennessee, Jenny Dailey of Rockfield, and Heidi Emody and her husband, Warren, of Bowling Green; his stepmother, Patricia Newsome of Russellville; grandson, Drew Morehead of Bowling Green; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Tivis “Ted” Newsome; his son, Justin Newsome; and his brother-in-law, Tom Dailey. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at J.C.
