Aubrey R. Cox, 83, of Bowling Green, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at 2:30 a.m. at the Hospice Center.
The Rockfield native was born March 3, 1929, to the late Johnny Abrams and Ella Francis Cox. He was the husband of the late Louise Pearson Cox. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Goodman; five brothers; and a sister.
Mr. Cox retired from the state Department of Transportation and was a retired groundskeeper of Still Cemetery. He was a member of White Stone Quarry Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR and working in his garden.
He is survived by a loving brother who helped take care of him, Robert Cox of Geismar, La.; a very special granddaughter who lovingly took care of him till the end, Rhonda Goodman, and a grandson, Donnie Goodman and his wife, Minnie, both of Bowling Green; a daughter-in-law, Patty Goodman of Edmonson County; four great-grandchildren, Candi, Caleb (Groundpig), Kaelei and Cason Goodman; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and two special nephews who helped care for him, Lewis and Henry Keiffer.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel. Burial will be in Still Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel.
