POLICE NEWS: Man charged with robbery

A Bowling Green man was arrested Sunday for his alleged connection in a robbery Friday at Country Mill Restaurant on U.S. 31-W By-Pass.

Justin Lamar McDonald, 21, 1712-D McGregor Court, was charged with first-degree robbery, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, first-degree wanton endangerment and receiving stolen property – a firearm.

McDonald was one of two men who allegedly robbed the restaurant at about 10:30 p.m. Friday night, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.

The two allegedly forced restaurant employees to the ground. Both men were described in the report as being armed, with one wearing a red and blue Spiderman mask and the other wearing a black ski mask.

At one point, one of the men allegedly fired his gun through the office door into an adjacent room when one of the employees looked up at him.

Officer Barry Pruitt, spokesman for BGPD, said McDonald was arrested through a tip from the CrimeStoppers hotline.

Police recovered the handgun McDonald allegedly used during the robbery and confirmed through the Atmore, Ala., Police Department that it had been stolen.

Anyone with information about the second person involved in the crime is asked to call BGPD at 393-4000 or CrimeStoppers at 781-CLUE.

McDonald is in Warren County Regional Jail without bond.

Arrest — Christopher Lee Alcorn, 37, 1233 N. Lee St., was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, according to a city police arrest report.

Alcorn allegedly tried to use a pocket knife to cut his father during an argument at his home.

Alcorn was released from jail on a $1,000 cash bond.

Arrest — Stephen Mark Kitley, 49, Lafayette, Ind., was arrested Friday and charged with receiving stolen property, over $300, according to a city police report.

Kitley allegedly stole a van and was staying at the Days Inn in Bowling Green after an argument with his father.

Kitley is in jail on a $5,000 cash bond.

Arrest — Michael Scott Norman, 40, 1511 Chestnut St., was arrested and charged Friday with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a city police report.

Norman is in jail on a $750 cash bond.
