Onyekwuluje back on ballot for family court judge

A Bowling Green attorney will run again for a family court judge position in Warren County.
This time, Osi Onyekwuluje, who was soundly defeated in November for a circuit court family judge’s spot, is seeking election to the newly-formed district court family judge seat.
Onyekwuluje filed Tuesday – the last day to file – and joins Bowling Green attorney John Brown of Hughes and Coleman in the race.
It will be Brown’s first attempt at running for office; Onyekwuluje has been running for state or local office since 2003, when he ran for auditor of public accounts. He also ran for the Kentucky Court of Appeals, and another seat on Warren Circuit Court.
In a separate race, a new family court seat was created for Allen and Simpson counties on the circuit court level.
This week, Scottsville attorney Jim M. Alexander joined that race.
Previously announced candidates for the spot are Sid Broderson, a Simpson County attorney, and Martha Blair Harrison of Scottsville, a private attorney who practices throughout southcentral Kentucky.
Neither Onyekwuluje or Alexander could be reached for comment.
Nominating commissions are expected to meet this week and forward the names of up to three qualified candidates for the positions to Gov. Ernie Fletcher, who may make appointments to the posts until they are filled by election.
