One dead in fatal Barren County crash, KSP investigating

Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision in Barren County that left one person dead at the scene Friday night.
KSP Post 3 Bowling Green was requested to respond to a crash at the 5.5 mile marker on Scottsville Road near the intersection of Browning School Road just after 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
According to police, preliminary investigation indicates that Chadwick Maxey, 50, of Gallatin, Tennessee, was operating a 2013 GMC truck southbound on Scottsville Road when he crossed the center dividing line into the northbound lane.
Per KSP, Maxey’s vehicle struck the 2001 GMC truck operated by David Crawford, 50, of Lucas, that was traveling northbound. Maxey was pronounced dead at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office.
Crawford, along with passenger Coy Bragg, 46, of Glasgow, were flown to Tri-Star Medical Center in Nashville.
Per KSP, the investigation is being led by Trooper Michael Wathen, who was assisted at the scene by Barren County EMS, the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, the Barren County Coroner and KSP personnel.
