The Medical Center at Bowling Green received the 2023 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Award with Honor Roll Elite Status and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award.
This is the fifth consecutive year The Medical Center has received the Gold Plus Award with Honor Roll Elite Status and the third consecutive year to receive the Target 2: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award.
The Gold Plus Award recognizes commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized research-based guidelines.
To qualify for the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Award, hospitals must meet specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster alteplase.
Recipients of the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll aim to ensure that patients with Type 2 diabetes receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.
The Medical Center at Bowling Green is certified by The Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center.
Get With The Guidelines is the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s hospital-based quality improvement program that provides hospitals with tools and resources to increase adherence to the latest research-based guidelines.
