A Logan County teacher was arrested Thursday on suspicion of having illegal sexual contact with a student.
Benjamin Adams, 26, of Bowling Green, was arrested at Logan County High School by Kentucky State Police on charges of first-degree sexual abuse and third-degree sodomy.
According to an arrest citation, KSP was contacted Thursday by the Logan County Board of Education, which had investigated allegations of possible criminal sexual activity between Adams and a juvenile student.
During the criminal investigation, the student was interviewed at Barren River Child Advocacy Center in Bowling Green and disclosed that sexual contact occurred after hours on school grounds with Adams.
The arrest citation lists a violation date of Dec. 12.
Adams declined to answer questions from police and requested an attorney prior to his arrest, the citation said.
Adams was placed in Logan County Detention Center. Online court records did not list an attorney or a court date for Adams on Friday morning.
