One juvenile was killed and another is in the hospital following a car accident Saturday night in Scottsville.

The victim was in a 2007 Nissan Altima. According to a release from Kentucky State Police, the juvenile lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, overturning and colliding with a tree.

The driver was pronounced dead on the scene, with the passenger transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment.

According to the release, KSP Post 3 received a call at approximately 9:30 p.m. from the Scottsville Police Department requesting assistance with a fatal accident at 3951 Old Hartsville Road in Scottsville.
