Hot Rod Power Tour set to return to Bowling Green June 10

The MotorTrend Hot Rod Power tour will return to Bowling Green on June 10, bringing with it an estimated over 6,000 vehicles and over 100,000 spectators to the region throughout the week.

The event last came to Bowling Green in 2017. Sherry Murphy, executive director of the Bowling Green Convention and Visitors Bureau, said in a release she expects the event to have a noticeable impact on Bowling Green.

“With Bowling Green being the middle destination for several days of the event, we anticipate most attendees to stay in town, which will keep our hotels, restaurants and other attractions very busy,” Murphy said in the release.

According to the release, the tour will kickoff at Beech Bend Raceway Park. Participants will travel to the Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennessee, on June 11, with additional stops during the week in Louisville, Hebron, Ohio, and Indianapolis.

The Power Tour is not the only automobile event coming to Bowling Green this year. The National Corvette Caravan will make its way to Bowling Green from Aug. 29-31, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the National Corvette Museum.

According to the release, smaller regional Corvette caravans will join together and drive across the United States, meeting up at the National Corvette Museum.

Also coming to Bowling Green this year is the Kyle Petty Charity Ride, which whill make its first visit to Bowling Green on May 8. According to the release, the ride is a charity benefit raising money for Victory Junction, a camp in Randleman, N.C., helping children with chronic illness.

Other annual events returning to Bowling Green include the National Hot Rod Association Nostalgia Nationals, taking place at Beech Bend on Father’s Day Weekend, Camaro Fest XIII from Aug. 1-4, the Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals on Aug. 8-10 and Holley LS Fest East from Sept. 6-8.
