Trick-or-treating hours for Bowling Green and Warren County are scheduled for Oct. 31 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

There have been requests in the past to change the date when Halloween falls on a Sunday, but both the Bowling Green Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office recommended against that this year for safety reasons.

Both agencies expect the amount of traffic in the area that weekend to be heavy because of Western Kentucky University’s homecoming.

Since trick-or-treating involves a lot of pedestrian traffic, both the city and the county decided to have Halloween on what they expect to be the least traffic-heavy evening of the weekend.
