Bowling Green awarded ‘City Government of the Year’ by KLC

The City of Bowling Green has been honored by the Kentucky League of Cities as “City Government of the Year.”

According to a press release, the city “has made significant strides” in community service, including the establishment of a training hub for emergency personnel and the creation of a mental health program for first responders.

The release stated that the city has supported its unhoused population through the newly opened Life Navigation Center and has embarked on highway improvements through the “BeautifI-65” project.

J.D. Chaney, executive director and CEO of KLC, stated in the release Bowling Green’s city government “exemplifies what it means to be community-led and service-driven.”

The city will be recognized at the 2024 KLC Conference & Expo in Lexington on Sept. 27. According to the release, Collins & Company will also donate $1,000 toward a city program or project.
