First Member Artists Exhibition at KMAC January 10 n February 21, 2009

Artists have always been the heart of the mission at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft and what better way to celebrate their talents but by the first juried Member Artists Exhibition, which is designed to showcase the breadth and depth of the artistic expression of the artist members. The show will open with a free public reception on Friday, January 9, 2009 and will continue through Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the Steve Wilson and Street Galleries.

The exhibit represents a rich and diverse collection of work, ranging from traditional to innovative explorations of art and craft styles. The show will showcase 88 pieces, including paintings, prints, drawings, ceramics, glass, turned wood, baskets, glass jewelry, books, rugs, wall hangings, sculpture and other mixed media works. All the artwork included is recently produced, often being exhibited for the first time.

About the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is a nonprofit organization founded in 1981. Its mission is to promote and support art and craft excellence in Kentucky. The Museum is supported in part by the Fund for the Arts and the Kentucky Arts Council, a state arts agency that supports the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft with state tax dollars and federal funding through the Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.
