Carl Saling

BROWNSVILLE — Carl Saling, 87, of Bee Spring died at 2:30 a.m. Feb. 12, 2009, at a Brownsville nursing home.

The Edmonson County native was a machine operator at Lorillard Tobacco Co., a World War II Army veteran and a Baptist. He was a son of the late Cleveland Saling and Rhoda Farris Saling. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Meredith, Reva Sue Saling and Donna Kay Saling.

Funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Vincent Church, where he was a member, with burial in Saling-Vincent Cemetery. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. today at the church. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Esteen Vincent Saling; five daughters, Betty Saling and her husband, C.L, of Sunfish, Carolyn Vincent and her husband, Mendell, of Shepherdsville, Sherry Decker and her husband, Eddie, of Bee Spring, Anita Saling of Smiths Grove and Sandra Leslie and her husband, Marty, of Leitchfield; a son, David Saling and his wife, Karen, of Bee Spring; a brother, William Saling and his wife, Jean, of Bee Spring; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
