As of 7 a.m. today, about 5,300 Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corp. customers in southcentral Kentucky were still without power after late January ice storms.

More than 450 contractors are continuing to work with Warren RECC personnel to get power restored, according to Rick Carroll, Warren RECC director of communications.

The heaviest concentration of outages remains in the northern counties of Warren RECC’s service area, including Ohio, Grayson, Butler and northern Edmonson.

Some areas may be without power for several more weeks. Warren RECC projects that power may not be restored to these areas until the end of the month:

  • Grayson County: Millerstown Road area; Hwy. 187 area.
  • Butler County: Silver City area; Leonard Oak area.
  • Ohio County: Rochester Road area; Windy Hill area.
  • In Edmonson County, the Cave Hollow Bay area is likely to be without power indefinitely.
