Grindstaff leads Tops at Mountaineer Invitational

Western Kentucky’s men’s golf team was tied for 13th at the Mountaineer Invitational as play was suspended due to lightning midway through the second round on Monday in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
The field features five Big 12 or SEC teams, including No. 4 Oklahoma State who leads the tournament at 16-under par, 17 shots clear of second-place Kentucky.
The Hilltoppers are through 10-12 holes of their second round and sit at 35-over. Individually, Riley Grindstaff and Hayden Warren both fired 3-over 75s in the first round. Grindstaff currently sits 7-over through 10 holes in his second round as WKU’s top golfer.
The second round will restart on 7:45 a.m. CT Tuesday and roll into the third round immediately after.
