Western Kentucky’s men’s basketball program has announced the signing of Evansville transfer Cam Haffner.

A native of Westfield, Indiana, Haffner joins the Hilltopper roster for 2025-26 after spending two seasons competing for the Purple Aces in the Missouri Valley Conference. Prior to enrolling at Evansville, Haffner spent one season with Eastern Illinois where he was named the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year in 2022-23.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to coach Cam,” WKU coach Hank Plona said in a news release. “Cam is a competitor with an elite ability to shoot the ball. He is a complete guard with great experience competing at a high level.”

Haffner appeared in 20 contests with starts in all 20 games for Evansville in 2024-25, averaging 12.7 points per game on 45.9% (96-of-209) shooting from the field and 2.4 3-pointers per game on a 36.7% clip from beyond the arc. Haffner added 3.6 rebounds per contest while dishing out 27 total assists for the year. Haffner appeared in all 35 games for the Aces as a sophomore in 2023-24, making 16 starts and averaging 4.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Prior to competing for Evansville, Haffner spent his freshman season at Eastern Illinois where he led all freshman in the OVC in scoring at 7.5 points per game and 9.2 points per game in league play. Haffner finished third in the OVC for 3-point shooting percentage at 42.7%. The standout season earned Haffner OVC Freshman of the Year honors for 2022-23.

“We wanted to improve our shooting from 3-point range,” Plona said. “Cam is a great start to making that happen.”

Haffner attended Westfield High School in Indiana where he averaged 16.5 points per contest as a senior and set a single-season school-record 85 3-pointers. Haffner was named an Indiana Large School All-State player in 2022 while earning a spot on the Indianapolis Star All-Super Team. The three-time all-conference selection in high school was an all-sectional team member for his final two seasons and earned all-regional team honors as a senior.
