Coming off a tough night against Glasgow in the opening round of the Region 4 Boys’ Basketball Tournament, Bowling Green’s Luke Idlett was determined to bounce back in Monday’s semifinal matchup against Russell County.

The senior guard did so in a big way, scoring 18 points to help the Purples advance to a 12th straight region title game.

Idlett said it felt good to get back in rhythm.

“It was definitely big, just for my confidence,” Idlett said. “Last game was a little off game for me but tonight I came in, made some shots and made some big 3s for my team. Credit to my teammates for finding me when I’m open. A good win tonight.”
