Lady Tops’ Craig leads Invitational after two rounds

Western Kentucky women’s golf senior Catie Craig leads the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational in her home state with 18 holes left to play on Sunday in Greensboro, Georgia.

She is currently 1-over par for the tournament and owns a one-shot lead. She enters Sunday with five career victories, one shy of Mary Joiner’s school record of six.

As a team, the Lady Tops are second, just two strokes back of No. 26 Florida. Freshman Kaylee Dwyer had WKU’s best round on Saturday with an even-par 72, while Sydney Hackett was 1-over on the day.

Craig has 26 pars through two rounds, second-most in the 85-player field. She is 1-over on the par 4s, third-best in the field, and has played all other holes at even par.

Teammate Sydney Hackett is 1-under on the par 3s, tied for second in the field.

WKU’s Averi Cline is 3-under on the par 5s, tied for best in the tournament through two rounds.

WKU leads the field in par 5-scoring at 3-under for the tournament. The Lady Tops are second in par 4-scoring and tied for third on the par 3s.

The Lady Tops have just 15 birdies through two rounds, but also have the second-fewest bogeys in the entire tournament field.

The final round of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational begins at 9 a.m. CT with a shotgun start.
