Held quiet for almost three quarters, Franklin-Simpson’s LaReesha Cawthorn erupted for a huge night in Friday’s 45-42 come-from-behind win over Logan County.

The senior forward scored 20 straight points in one stretch in the second half, finishing with 28 points and 12 rebounds.

The biggest stat was at the free-throw line, where Cawthorn (shooting 68.6% on the season) finished 16-for-19 – including 9-for-9 in the fourth.

“My free throws have not been the best,” Cawthorn said. “That is something that before practice me and my coaches have been working on. I would say coming early to practice and shooting free throws before practice has definitely helped.”
