Butler County back in top five of Daily News poll

The Butler County boys’ basketball team in back in the top 5 of the latest Daily News Area Top 10, rising to fourth this week.
Butler County picked up home wins over Warren Central and Grayson County to climb back above .500. The Bears are 6-3 in the last nine games.
Despite the loss to the Bears, Warren Central remains a unanimous No. 1 with Bowling Green holding in second. Clinton County holds in third just ahead of Butler County, while Barren County holds in fifth.
Greenwood, South Warren, Warren East, Cumberland County and Logan County round out the boys’ poll.
On the girls’ side, the top four remain the same with Franklin-Simpson a unanimous number one following its double-overtime win over Barren County last week. The Trojanettes hold in second, with Metcalfe County third and Warren East fourth.
Cumberland County moves up a spot to fifth.
Bowling Green, Allen County-Scottsville, Edmonson County, Todd County Central and Russell County round out the girls’ poll.
