Guthrie ignoring his duty

Dear Congressman Guthrie:
It appears as though you voted in favor of the $95 billion foreign aid package, $61 billion of which goes to Ukraine for their pensions and their border among other things. If so, why? The total U.S. taxpayers have now sent to Ukraine is over $175 billion. All of it under the guise of helping them combat Russia, even though peace negotiations were railroaded with U.S. bureaucratic (and military industrial complex) help many months ago.

According to a recent Gallup poll, the invasion ongoing at our southern border is far more important to most Americans than whatever is happening in Ukraine. In fact, illegal immigration and U.S. economic circumstances top the list of concerns.
Third in the poll? Government/poor leadership. I do not think that ironic; I think it surprising that poor government leadership is not No. 1 on the poll. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as a specific item is not on that list.
Why are you participating, as an elected official sworn to uphold the Constitution, in spending American taxpayer money in foreign lands when it isn’t yours to give? Especially given the $35 trillion in federal debt already outstanding!
When you took office in January 2009, the federal debt was $10.7 trillion. It is now $35 trillion. That’s an increase of 227% in 15 years. As my dad, a prominent physician in Warren County for over 40 years once told me when I demonstrated an exceptional level of negligence in my yard work, “If I did my job that poorly, I would kill people.”
I’ll not be voting for any candidate who so egregiously demonstrates that he has no respect for our Constitution or his constituency.
