Israel needs support

I have never been ashamed of my government until now. There are so many instances of malfeasance and downright lunacy coming from Washington in general and the White House in particular that it baffles one’s brain to zero in on just one.

But the line was crossed on April 14 when Iran lobbed some 300 plus missiles and drones and bombs onto Israel, most of which were shot down, but about which our commander in chief cautioned Israel not to respond. And if she did respond, that action could result in less military and sustenance aid from the USA. I consider that admonition to be, “Just sit there and take it!” Of course that’s not going to happen.

Israel has every right to be where they are and they do a great job of minding their own business. Unfortunately, they are virtually surrounded by those who want them dead. Which leads to another point: why has the Jewish race been hated throughout history? Even today, here in our own country, we see on the news hoards of Americans demonstrating and chanting, “Death to Israel and Death to America.” And I wonder, “Why?” Israel has been supported for the most part by my government since their becoming a nation in 1948. Until now! There should be no thought from Washington of abandoning our only ally in the Middle East.

For those who follow the teachings of the Holy Scriptures, Jeremiah 30:22 proclaims, “And ye shall be My people, and I will be your God.” (KJV) And as God spoke to Abraham, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee … ” Genesis 12:3(KJV). We must not turn our backs on Israel.
