Scottsville’s Stamper wins BGT Junior Series Tour Championship

Scottsville’s Eli Stamper won the boys’ 15-18 age division in the Bluegrass Golf Tour Junior Series’ Tour Championship on Sunday at Weissinger Hills Golf Course in Shelbyville.

Stamper, who entered the day tied for third after carding an opening-round 72, closed out the tournament with a 1-under 71 to finish at 1-under 143. That was good for a one-shot victory, with Louisville’s Clay Robinson taking second at even-par 144.

Bowling Green’s Ally Jean Stephens won the girls’ 12 and under (9-hole) division by one stroke after finishing with a 14-over 86.

In the girls’ 15-18 division, Bowling Green’s Elsie Espinola tied for second with a 10-over 154 – three shots back of medalist Kenzie Willen of Burkesville.

Bowling Green’s Ellie Morgan finished third in the girls’ 14 and under division after carding a 19-over 163.{&end}
