Franklin man gets 10-year sentence for drug, firearms offenses

A Simpson County man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison after pleading to federal drug and firearms crimes.

Corey Kaiser, 27, of Franklin, received the sentence in U.S. District Court on charges of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky, Kaiser had 193.2 grams of meth and three handguns in his possession on Oct. 13, 2021, in Simpson County.

The case was investigated by the Bowling Green Field Office of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Franklin Police Department.
