Great memories rekindled

I enjoyed Joe Imel’s column, “Shooting my last tobacco harvest,” immensely.
It brought back so many fond memories of growing up on a farm in western Kentucky. I spent countless hours in the fields and barns working with tobacco. I’ve never smoked, nor thought it was a good idea for anyone, so the dichotomy of gratification in working with the product as opposed to actually using it isn’t lost on me. But I learned a lot about hard work and following through with something you’ve started. These are lessons that have stayed with me my entire life.
Thanks Mr. Imel for the snapshot into the past.
