Lost River Cave bridge provides more access

The Daily News reported on Aug. 5, 2003, that installation of a 143-foot bridge intended to provide more accessibility to Lost River Cave was complete.
The cave’s positioning at the bottom of a deep valley is scenic; however, steep walls surrounding the entrance deterred many enthusiasts from fully exploring the area.
Friends of Lost River hoped the bridge’s addition would increase tourism and boost potential for special events. The plan seems to have succeeded; visitors increased from 43,000 in 2002 to over 200,000 in 2021.
