BG East slips past Ohio 1-0

Asa Buchanan’s RBI single in the fifth inning was the difference as the Bowling Green East 10-12 Little League All-Stars picked up a 1-0 win over West Side Little League from Hamilton, Ohio in the Great Lakes Region Tournament on Sunday in Whitestown, Indiana.
BG East improves to 2-0 and is now one win away from advancing to the championship game.

Jake Young and Henry Phillips combined on the shutout, with Phillips earning the win. Young allowed one hit and three walks with one strikeout in 3 2/3 innings. Phillips allowed one hit and struck out four in 2 1/3 innings.
Easton Crawford has the other hit for BG East, scoring the game-winning run.
Bowling Green East advances to face Hinsdale, Illinois, on Monday at 6 p.m. CDT in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN. Hinsdale advanced after beating Indiana 3-0 on Saturday.
