POLICE NEWS: Man charged with theft after allegedly taking textbooks

Arrest — Bobby Tanner Steelman, 28, of Bowling Green was charged with theft by unlawful taking over $300 after allegedly being caught at 11:46 a.m. Wednesday taking three textbooks from the Downing University Center bookstore, according to a Western Kentucky Police Department report.
Steelman is in Warren County Regional Jail on $1,500 bond.
Burglary — A laptop computer and an iPod valued at $2,100 were stolen between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Riverview Avenue, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report. There was also $500 in damage to the apartment when the rear door was kicked open.
