- Members of the Bowling Green Fire Department gather on the lawn of 1211 Kentucky St. after containing the flames found in the structure’s attic Friday morning.
The Bowling Green Fire Department put a stop to a house fire on Friday morning, the second time 1211 Kentucky St. had gone up in flames in one day.
BGFD battalion chief Eric Scott said eight trucks responded to the initial fire call at 11:46 p.m. Thursday night. He said this first fire was under control in about 15 minutes.

Per Scott, small smoldering spots left over from the night’s fire rekindled flames in the two-story home’s attic, prompting BGFD’s seven-truck response on Friday morning.
“We just hope they can extinguish all they can find, smoldering spots of fire,” Scott said. “Obviously, the crews last night thought they had everything out. We had investigators on scene for hours last night but no additional smoke or fire at all. We try to prevent this.”
Scott said the home was vacant for both fires. He said there were “no injuries for us.”
He said the fire is under investigation.
