The American Red Cross and Bank of Edmonson County will hold a Sound the Alarm home fire safety and smoke alarm installation event to help reduce deaths and injuries caused by home fires.

Red Cross volunteers and local partners will schedule appointments, install free smoke alarms and help families create escape plans.

Sign-ups are in progress for smoke alarm installations July 22 or 23.

Someone 18 or older must be home at the time of the installation.
