Logan County back in girls’ Daily News Top 10

The Logan County girls’ basketball team is back in the Daily News Area Top 10, re-entering this week at No. 8.

Logan County won its first three games in 2025, including wins against Allen County-Scottsville and Todd County Central, before a loss to Hancock County on Saturday.

Franklin-Simpson remains a unanimous No. 1, with Barren County second. Metcalfe County holds at third, while Warren East is fourth and Bowling Green is fifth.

Cumberland County holds in sixth with Monroe County moving up to seventh in front of Logan County. Allen County-Scottsville and Todd County Central round out the girls’ poll.

On the boys’ side, Warren Central is No. 1 with Bowling Green holding in second. Clinton County slides up a spot to third, with Greenwood fourth and South Warren fifth.

Butler County, Cumberland County, Warren East, Barren County and Russell County round out the boys’ poll.

This week’s voting panel includes Daily News sports writer Micheal Compton; Daily News sports editor Jeff Nations; Brian Davis of The Franklin Favorite in Franklin; Jay Turner of WCLU 104.7 FM in Glasgow and Chase Landrum of WCLU 103.1 in Glasgow.

Voting was conducted before Monday’s games.
