Realtors report record numbers in January

Following a record-breaking year for sales volume, the Realtors Association of Southern Kentucky posted more record numbers in the first month of 2022.

In January, there were 247 residential units sold, up 26.7% from last January. Sales volume reached $61,013,840, which was up a whopping 59.4% from January 2021.

The average sales price for residential property was the highest of any January at $247,019. The average sales price climbed by 25.8% from this time last year.

Local housing inventory levels rose slightly in the latter half of 2021, but January was the third straight month residential inventory has fallen. As of Jan. 31, there were only 398 residential units actively for sale in the seven-county region covered by RASK. At the same time two years ago, there were 961.
