James F. Galloway

HALLETTSVILLE, Texas — James Flint Galloway, 73, of Hallettsville died June 17, 2008.

The Bowling Green, Ky., native was born July 3, 1934. He graduated from College High School in Bowling Green in 1951. He served in the Navy from 1952-1956 and obtained the rank of electronics technician 1st class. Afterward, he graduated from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind., with a bachelor of science degree in electronics technology. His career included supervisor at Columbia Record Club in Terre Haute and manager of Record Club of America in York, Pa. He retired from John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo, Iowa. He was known for his love of family, his keen sense of humor and his ability to fix or make anything. He was a son of the late Henry F. Galloway and Wiley Kimbro Galloway. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Harrison Kilburn Jr.

Private memorial service is at a later date. Kubena Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Jean; his children, James Flint Galloway Jr. and Tracy Elizabeth Kilburn, both of Indianapolis, and Wendy Lea Galloway of Austin; and grandchildren, David James Kilburn, Bradley William Kilburn, Parker James Galloway and Hunter Mari Galloway.
