Warren East sophomore center fielder Lucy Patterson enjoys the spotlight of the state softball tournament.
Last season, her catch through the wall made top plays on ESPN. While she didn’t go through a wall this season, she made an impact in the Lady Raiders’ run to a second straight runner-up finish – earning all-tournament team honors.
Patterson said she was excited about the honor, but also admitted she’s ready to make another run at a state tournament berth and see if she can raise her game to another level.
“My freshman year I made ESPN, but I didn’t make the all-tournament team,” Patterson said. “My sophomore year I made the all-tournament team, but I didn’t go through a wall. My junior year maybe I can make the all-tournament team and ESPN.”
