According to Gray’s arrest citation, Bowling Green police officers responded to a call about a disturbance at 1132 Fairview Ave., where they met a woman who had taken in the 2-year-old after witnessing an altercation between the child’s mother and a man.

During the dispute, Gray is accused of slamming the child down onto the concrete and fleeing on foot, leaving the child on the ground. She was arrested at 11:46 p.m. that evening.

According to Bowling Green police, the child was then taken to The Medical Center and flown to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University for further treatment.

BGPD spokesman Officer Ronnie Ward told the Daily News Monday afternoon that the child had been released from the hospital.
