Lady Raiders’ Gardner tosses perfect game, homers twice in win

Warren East’s Katie Gardner tossed a five-inning perfect game to lead the host Lady Raiders to a 13-0 win over Muhlenberg County on Thursday.
Gardner also went 3-for-3, homered twice and drove in five runs in the win. In the circle, Gardner struck out 12.
The Lady Raiders finished with 13 hits.
Hailey Hymer joined Gardner with two home runs and tallied four RBIs, Lucy Patterson had two hits including a triple and drove in three, and Kelsey Sparks and Olivia Price added two hits each.
Warren East (19-0) is back in action Friday at 6:30 p.m. against Christian County in the Big M Chevrolet Classic hosted by Elizabethtown.
Greenwood 18, Warren Central 0
Greenwood’s softball team picked up an 18-0 home win in three innings over District 14 rival Warren Central on Thursday.
The Lady Gators tallied 14 hits. Alex Grubbs was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs, Reagan Fletcher had a two hits including a double and Caitlyn Oliver was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
Greenwood’s Kaylie Allen, Tori Dyer and Kaitlyn Wilson each had two hits and two RBIs, Taliyah Byrd drove in three runs, Lauryn Cook tallied two RBIs and Allyson Smith had one RBI in the win.
Greenwood starting pitcher Kayden Murray tossed three perfect innings for the win, striking out seven.
The Lady Gators (9-7 overall, 4-1 District 14) host Meade County at 11 a.m. and Logan County at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Warren Central (0-9, 0-4) faces host Edmonson County at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in the Lady Cat Classic.

Warren Central 14, Caverna 2
Jordan Lindsey tallied a pair of doubles and drove in four runs as visiting Warren Central picked up a 14-2 win in five innings over Caverna on Thursday.
Lindsey was 3-for-4 to lead the Dragons, who finished with 11 hits.
Jerry Adams was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Jordan Miller went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Noah Thomas drove in a pair of runs in the win.
Miller earned the win allowing two earned runs off four hits and three walks. He struck out four.
Warren Central (5-9) snapped an eight-game losing streak.
The Dragons are back in action Friday at Jeffersontown.
