Greenwood athletic director Nick Lowe announced Wednesday that Zac Lechler has been named the new girls’ soccer coach.

Lechler, who has served as Greenwood’s junior varsity coach for the last four seasons, replaces Zach Salchli, who stepped down to take a position with WKU women’s soccer.

Lechler played soccer for Defiance College in Ohio and has a master’s degree in kinesiology from WKU – working for Med Center Health in Bowling Green. 

He inherits a team that finished 17-3-3 last season, advancing to the state quarterfinals for the second time in three years.
