Geraldine “Geri” F. Grimes, 85, of Woodburn died Oct. 16, 2008, in Bowling Green.
The Plano native was born Jan. 8, 1923. She was a bookkeeper for Washburn Co. and Forest City Electric in Rockford, Ill., and a retired bookkeeper from Service One Credit Union in Bowling Green. She was a member of Woodburn Baptist Church and the Golden Girls Circle. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles. She was a daughter of the late Blake Belcher and Henrietta Bruns Belcher. She was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Mae Bruton Johnson; a brother, Marion Randolph Belcher; and a nephew, J.B. Bruton.
There will be no visitation or funeral at her request. Mrs. Grimes was cremated at her request. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Woodburn Baptist Church Building Fund.
Survivors include her husband, Harold “Jerry” Grimes; two daughters, Sandra Kay Grimes Kittoe and her husband, John E., of Sebring, Fla., and Nancye Carol Grimes Franklin and her husband, Lonnie E., of Rockford, Ill.; two grandsons, Troy Allen Kittoe and Kevin Wade Kittoe and his wife, Irene, all of Rockford; a granddaughter, Michelle Nicole Franklin of Phoenix; two great-grandsons, Jeffery John Kittoe and Kyle Allen Kittoe of Rockford; a great-granddaughter, Heather Lynne Kittoe-DeBoer of Freeport, Ill.; and two nieces, Reba Jump and her husband, Robert, and Kittye Sterrett and her husband, Russell.
