Hot Rods drop extra-inning decision to Great Lakes

Mitchell Hansen scored the winning run on a wild pitch with two outs in the 10th inning as the Great Lakes Loons beat the Bowling Green Hot Rods 6-5 on Monday in Midland, Mich.
The Loons tied the game at 5 in the bottom of the ninth when Starling Heredia hit a solo home run.

Reliever Aneurys Zabala (2-1) went 2 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out three and walking one to pick up the win. Bowling Green’s Hunter Schryver (0-2) allowed one run and got two outs in the Midwest League game.
Heredia was a double short of the cycle, driving in three runs and scoring a pair in the win.
The Hot Rods (22-14) will look to even the series Tuesday at 9:35 a.m. CST. They will send RHP Tobias Myers (3-2, 4.33) to the mound, while the Loons will counter with RHP Edwin Uceta (1-1, 3.29).
