Hot Rods win franchise record 10th straight

The Bowling Green Hot Rods won a franchise-record 10th straight game with an 8-1 victory Tuesday over Peoria (Ill.) at Bowling Green Ballpark.
Bowling Green (20-11) pounded out 13 hits – with five players recording multi-hit games. Moises Gomez and Carl Chester had two hits and two RBIs each, while Zach Rutherford had two hits and two runs scored for the Hot Rods.
Tobias Myers allowed one run and five hits over five innings to earn the win and improve to 3-2 on the season. Tyler Zombro earned the save, his first of the season, with four scoreless innings. He allowed two hits.
The series is scheduled to conclude at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday. Right-hander Austin Franklin (2-2, 4.23) is scheduled to start for the Hot Rods, with right-hander Alvaro Seijas (1-2, 5.01) scheduled to start for Peoria.
