Western Kentucky picked up a wide receiver commitment Monday, two days before National Signing Day.

Anthony Spurlock (Edna Karr High School, New Orleans) tweeted that he’s pledged to sign Wednesday with the Hilltoppers as part of their Class of 2018. He’s the 23rd current member of that class.

Spurlock (6-foot-1, 160 pounds) is rated by 247 Sports Composite as a three-star prospect ranked No. 1,818 overall in the Class of 2018, No. 272 among wide receivers in the class and No. 74 among Louisiana natives in the class.

Spurlock also has reported scholarship offers from Oregon State, Troy and FCS schools Idaho, Jacksonville State and Nicholls.

Spurlock is the fifth wide receiver in WKU’s class, joining December signees Russell Brown and Spencer Gaddis and fellow commits Terez Traynor and Kawan Williams. He’s the second Louisianan in the class, joining fellow New Orleans native Garland LaFrance.
