Potter does part in win

Warren Central senior guard Skyelar Potter was still processing the Dragons’ 65-53 Region 4 championship win over Bowling Green on Tuesday.
Potter, who had 19 points and 10 rebounds, said it was a moment he had been waiting for his entire career – helping Warren Central claim its first region title since 2013, while knocking out the defending state champion.

“This is great,” Potter said. “(To win) with everybody here and the crowd we’ve got. It’s a bit shocking right now.”
For his efforts, Potter – a finalist for Mr. Basketball and the Region 4 player of the year according to coaches – earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
Potter and the Dragons head to Lexington for the state tournament, facing Southwestern at 5:30 p.m. CDT Wednesday.{&end}
