Cornist eager to take next step at Evansville

Logan County’s Kerra Cornist is eager to see what she can do at the next level in volleyball.
The Lady Cougars’ senior middle hitter inked her national letter of intent to play at Division I Evansville on Tuesday, becoming the school’s first-ever D-I volleyball signee.

Where she’ll play with the Purple Aces remains to be seen, but that’s a mystery Cornist can’t wait to explore next season.
“Really he says he just wants to unleash me from the middle,” Cornist said. “So maybe that means maybe outside, right side, maybe even a little back row. So I’m just ready to experience that.”
At Logan County this season, the 6-foot Cornist led the team in both kills (329) and blocks (75).
