Gerald Dale Hendricks

ROCKFIELD – Mr. Gerald Dale Hendricks, age 74 of Rockfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at The Medical Center of Bowling Green.

Gerald was born February 23, 1950, in Bowling Green, KY, to the late Agui Naldo Hendricks and the late Eva Roxie White Hendricks. He is also preceded in death by four brothers, Ronald Hendricks, William Hendricks, Haven Hendricks and Clarence Hendricks; three sisters, Jean Russell, Elizabeth Runner, and Katherine Garrett.

He is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years, Brenda Carol Hendricks; daughter, Evelyn Meredith (Jayson) of Bowling Green, KY; son, Frank Long of Rockfield, KY; four grandchildren, Dakota Meredith, Kyler Meredith, Christopher Long and Alyson Long; sister, Jo Carol Thornton of Bowling Green, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Gerald grew up on a family farm working fields beside his father, tending to and milking cows and planting a garden every year. He was an outdoorsman at heart, admiring nature and the wildlife. Gerald loved collecting Moline Tractors and antiques. He was a regular at yard sales and could spot a good deal and would buy and resale his finds. Gerald loved his family, adored his grandchildren and his dogs, Rinny and Ruby.

The family has entrusted J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with arrangements.

Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 1:00pm with burial to follow in the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm and again on Monday at 9:00am until time of service at 1:00pm.
